The Contrasting Dream and Reality of Immigrants

“New Roots in The Lion City” and “Strings Across Borders”

"New Roots in the Lion City" and “Strings Across Borders” cover the emotional impact on immigrants leaving behind everything they once knew in search of safety or better opportunities. Aung and Amar are immigrants who built or found new homes in foreign countries, and the project showcases how they were able to find belonging in their new circumstances. Ultimately, "New Roots in the Lion City" and “Strings Across Borders” suggest that home is not a set place, but anywhere one's culture and traditions can take root.
