Political Censorship in Southeast Asia

Paying attention to political censorship in Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Vietnam, the project shows how these nations are similar in their legal approaches to censorship. It does so by identifying the specific areas of these societies which are censored and regulated, such as movies and media releases. As much as governments want to maintain order, they are equally careful not to subdue the people’s liberty. Can this fine balance satisfy Southeast Asians’ desire for democracy?
